TCS Lidingöloppet is the world's largest cross-country-race and a part of the Swedish Classic Circuit. Since the first race event was arranged in 1965, the 30 hilly kilometers on Lidingö have become a challenge for runners from all over Sweden and the world. Today, Lidingöloppet arranges events throughout the year for both recreational- and elite runners. Our vision is to encourage more people to move - regardless of age, gender, ambition, and background. Lidingöloppet is owned and organised by the sports associations IFK Lidingö Skid- och Orienteringsklubb and IFK Lidingö Friidrott.
The Roles
One of our two new project managers - Project Manager for Races and Race Development, will mainly work with the planning, implementation, and development of Lidingöloppet's arrangements. You will work both independently on the race(s) that you are managing, and in teams with other project managers.
The second project manager, Project Manager for Partnerships, will primarily work with Lidingöloppet's partners. You will work together with our sponsor department on tasks relating to planning and contacts with existing sponsors, events during our races, and with some renegotiation and/or new sales.
Both positions include a close relationship with other colleagues and with our non-profit race officials, both in the planning, development, and implementation of our races.
In a relatively small team where we work with both small and large events, collaboration and flexibility are key. So is the ability to run projects independently, while simultaneously cooperating with and assisting colleagues when needed.
For the roles, you will have many external contacts, for example with suppliers and partners, and with our race colleagues within En Svensk Klassiker (the Swedish Classic Circuit).
Your profile
We are looking for individuals with a lot of momentum and initiative. Successful candidates can multitask and deliver results according to set plans and are positive and cooperative. Other qualities valued highly in the roles include social competence and commitment, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. As a person, you are calm, stable and can remain calm in stressful situations.
For the role, you should have a relevant educational background, preferably academic. You should have experience of partnership contacts and feel comfortable handling both senior and junior individuals among our partners. Naturally, you should be passionate about public health and exercise. Previous work with events, for example as a race official at a recreational race or a sports competition/match, is a great merit. You have a high degree of digital maturity, and are used to working in several different systems, including the Office suite. You need to have proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Lidingöloppet
Based on Lidingöloppet's mission "With the nature as our arena, we develop sustainable experiences with focus on health, joy and personal challenges", we can promise a stimulating work environment with the ability to develop in your role. You will have the advantage of working with the planning, execution and follow-up of beloved sport events, where public health and sustainability are key. Through long-term-focus, tradition and innovation, Lidingöloppet is well equipped for the future.
The position is located at Lidingöloppet's office at Lidingö.
