Volunteer of the Year
Many officials have put in a lot of volunteer work.
Our track manager for many years in the 1980s took unpaid leave from his elevator company during his tenure and was present at the finish area and on the track for the entire time. Together with a friend who was the hydration manager at the finish and worked at the fire department, the track manager assisted. This effort was rewarded when Kjell Gustavsson in 1996 became "The Official of All Time". That same year, Stig Thunell received the "Official of the Year" award for his excellent work in developing the finish area. Sonia Rodière was chosen the following year for her great commitment and work with the registration.
1998 is the year Lennart Brattgård and Birgitta Ekelund receive this distinction. In 1999, the competition doctor Annika Hässler was named the official of the year. As the Official of All Time, Lars-Eric Dahlstedt was honored in 1999.

In 1997, Lidingöloppet developed an environmental policy, "The Green Race on the Green Island." At Grönsta, an environmental station was established, and 10 Lidingöloppet officials received training in Säfsen. Lidingöloppet was the first among the Classic Race organizers to take this initiative. Over a series of years, the development of sanitation has continuously improved, and from 2012 there was a restart with the Eco-labeled Event, which had new criteria, guidelines, and support for Lidingöloppet. The person who has contributed most to this development is Ulric Carlsson.
