Carolina Johnson shattered the course record at the TCS Lidingö Race

Today at the TCS Lidingöloppet 30 km, Linköping GIF's Carolina Johnson made history as the first woman ever to finish under 1:50. After a strong finish, she crossed the finish line at a sunny Grönsta gärde with a time of 1:49:19. "It feels absolutely fantastic," she says.
TCS Lidingöloppet 2025 signifies a grand public celebration - with 31,500 registered runners and over 100,000 visitors on Lidingö during the weekend. On Saturday, the biggest race was decided - the classic 30 km - with 15,000 runners registered.
Just like last year, there was a duel between Sylvia Medugu Kiberenge from Denmark - a four-time winner of the TCS Lidingöloppet 30 km - and a Carolina. Last year it was Wikström - this time Johnson.
Medugu Kiberenge just like in 2024 got a big gap and was heading towards victory for a long time. But Johnson, the winner of 2023, made a tremendous finish and passed the Dane a few kilometers from the finish line.
At Grönsta gärde, she broke into a big smile and was able to win the race unchallenged in 1:49:19 - more than two minutes faster than Carolina Wikström's course record last year.
-It feels absolutely fantastic. I had a good feeling and great support during the race. Breaking the course record was really cool considering the history of the Lidingöloppet and all the amazing runners who have run here before, says Johnson just after crossing the finish line.
